Sioux and SE-CURE start collaboration Eindhoven, 6 August 2009 - Sioux and SE-CURE have decided to start collaboration in introducing services in the area of “software management by numbers” to the Dutch and Belgian market. These services will help software development organizations to analyse, benchmark and improve their software development capability.
Need for quantitative software managementThe software industry still isn't doing a very good job at managing by the numbers. Sassenburg, managing director of SE-CURE: “Oftentimes, software projects are managed by just three metrics: project schedule, effort and critical defects found during testing. Many other useful metrics are ignored, but must be in the equation as well. They represent what will be built, how it is built and the expected quality of the final outcome.” When quantitative information is missing, decisions are not based on facts but on intuition. Peter Wijnhoven, managing consultant at Sioux: “In our consulting assignments, we often see that improvement initiatives result in satisfying standards/models instead of tangibly improving measured capability. Expressing software performance in numbers will help organizations to focus on their weakest areas and measure the results over time.”
Workshop 24 September 2009As part of the introduction of the new services, Sioux and SE-CURE will organise a workshop about “management by numbers” on 24 September 2009 in Eindhoven. In this workshop, a powerful set of 16 best practice KPIs is presented, using a multi-dimensional perspective, together with benchmarking data (industry, best-in-class). This enables a quantitative assessment of a software manufacturer‘s capability and define an underpinned business case for improvements with quantified targets. About SE-CURE AG
